SAPEC has been selected by Spanish public broadcasster RTVE to provide the necessary receiver/decoder equipment to improve satellite network reception across Latin America and the US.

sapec ird 13 apr 2018The technology provider will deliver 66 integrated receiver/decoder (IRD) devices to the facilities of RTVE’s broadcasting partners in the region, including telcos and pay-TV players mostly located in the US, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Guatemala.

According to SAPEC, RTVE aims to improve the reach of all its signals but, above all, the reception of STAR HD, a signal launched in January 2016.

“The equipment purchased is Gredos IRD GHR 6202, with double power source, IP output, common interface and support for DVb-S/S2/S2x. The down-conversion feature is implemented to simultaneously decode SD and HD video,” the company explained.
