ESPN has integrated its streaming platform into UOL’s premium sports content service UOL Esporte Clube in Brazil.

espn play 13 apr 2018Through the partnership between both companies, ESPN is seeking to increase reach and distribution for ESPN Play.

The streaming service delivers live coverage of the Premiere League, the NFL and the NBA, among other competitions, and a comprehensive catalogue of video-on-demand (VOD) content. Most of ESPN’s journalistic shows, including Sports Centre, Bola da Vez, Linha de Passe and Bate Bola Debate, are also available on ESPN Play.

“Through this new alliance we are joining one of Brazil’s largest media groups and we’re strengthening our portfolio’s distribution,” said Marcello Zeni, VP, affiliates, Disney and ESPN. “Our mission is to understand sports fans and this agreement get us closer to them.”

For users of UOL Esporte Clube, ESPN Play will cost $3.8 per month, the same rate as other Brazilian broadband operators. The service is also included as a TV everywhere add-on for ESPN pay-TV subscribers.

The partnership follows ESPN’s recent move to revamp its mobile and digital presence in Brazil.
