The TV channel from Chile’s Camara de Diputados, Canal CDTV, was temporarily suspended after the signal was hacked.

cdtv chile 17 mar 2018According to VTR, technical manager of the network, for two consecutive short periods of time, the channel aired pornography as a result of a security breach. The hacking only affected the signal in the Valparaiso area.

After that, the signal was switched off and an investigation was carried out by both VTR’s and Liberty Latin America’s technicians.

So far, the origin of the pirate signal that interfered with the channel has not been identified.

“As a result of the investigation, VTR has activated a new security protocol for Canal CDTV with an isolated TV link in order to protect the channel as much as possible,” pointed out VTR, which said that Canal CDTV  is already back on air.
