In its last financial year before merging with Telecom Argentina, Cablevisión has reported strong growth in revenues.

cablevision clarin 01 septembre 20171The pay-TV operator invoiced over $2 billion during 2017, 34% more than during 2016, citing subscriber growth in the broadband segment and increased ARPU in cable TV as the main drivers.

In Argentina’s highly mature market, subscriber figures haven’t changed much for the company, standing at 3.5 million pay-TV households and 2.3 million Internet homes.

According to Cablevisión’s financial statement adjusted EBITDA also increased by 38.6% compared with 2016, reaching more than $740 million, “mostly driven by increased sales in the Internet access segment, and a higher ARPU in cable TV and Internet Access segment,” said the company.

Cablevision’s merger with Telecom Argentina became financially effective on 1 January 2018 when it became the first fully convergent player in the country, although merger of operations has still to be completed.
