Subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) leader Netflix has signed an agreement with Narcos and El Chapo producer Dynamo for a third original series in Colombia.

netflix tablet 10 november 2017Netflix has already begun principal photography on its third Colombian original series, Distrito Salvaje, created by Cristian Conti and starring Juan Pablo Raba, Cristina Umaña and Camila Sodi. The ten-episode series will premiere this year across the Americas for Netflix subscribers only.

Dynamo is one of Latin America’s most prominent production houses, with recent series including American Made, 7 Años and Orbiter9. It is also working with Netflix on another still unnamed original format.

The third Netflix Original in Colombia will follow a guerrilla fighter who escapes the jungle after the signing of the Colombian Peace Agreements and tries to reintegrate himself into society and reconnect with his family.

Filmed entirely in Colombia, Distrito Salvaje is directed by Javier Fuentes-León and Carlos Moreno, and written by Cristian Conti, Javier Gullón, Javier Fuentes-León and Mauricio Leyva.
