Patricio Wills, president of Univision’s W Studios, is to lead Televisa’s content production studios.
Replacing Rosy Ocampo as president and head of studio of Televisa Estudios, Wills will report directly to Isaac Lee, chief content officer of Univision and Televisa.
The seasoned executive will be responsible for continuing and strengthening Televisa’s content strategy, in which the US Hispanic broadcaster plays a crucial role. He will oversee talent, development and production of every Televisa format for pay-TV and free-to-air (FTA).
Wills has been executive director and partner of Colombia’s RTI, founder and president of Telemundo Studios and, since 2016, president of W Studios, a joint venture with Univision.
Responsible for Spanish-language hits such as La Piloto, Wills is currently working on several shared projects for Univision and Televisa, like El ultimo Dragón and La Bella y las Bestias.
According to the Mexican media group, Ocampo will abandon any executive role, but will continue focusing on content production within Televisa.
