Amazon is to produce football documentary Six Dreams together with Spain’s La Liga and Mediapro.
The first Spanish original format for the subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service Prime Video will follow the careers of six La Liga stars throughout the 2017-2018, namely, Saúl Ñíguez (Atlético de Madrid), Iñaki Williams (Athletic Club de Bilbao), Andrés Guardado (Real Betis Balompié), Amaia Gorostiza (president, SD Éibar), Eduardo Berizzo (former Sevilla FC coach) and Quique Cárcel (sports manager, Girona FC).
Six Dreams, which will premiere globally this year through Amazon Prime Video across over 200 territories, will join Amazon’s increasing sports catalogue, including a Man City series, All or Nothing (focused on the NFL), and Grand Prix Driver.
“We’re thrilled to be able to deliver unique access to the daily routines of some of the people making La Liga one of the best football competitions worldwide,” said Jay Marine, VP, Prime Video Europe.
“Through Six Dreams, Amazon Prime Video will show a different view of La Liga, with behind-the-scenes stories, that will enable fans to discover some of the secrets of the competition,” added Javier Tebas, president, La Liga.
“A project like this one should count on La Liga, Mediapro and Amazon. No other player could have told this story better,” said Jaume Roures, co-founder and partner, Mediapro.
