Aiming to secure its Hollywood, Bollywood and Jazzwood content in the growing MENA marketplace in which it operates, icflix has deployed BuyDRM's KeyOS MultiKey DRM Service for its streaming and VOD platform.

ICFLIX Best App 2017The subscription VOD (SVOD) service,  which launched in 2013, is now available on over 12,000 different mobile and fixed Internet enabled devices including PCs, Macs, smart phones, tablets, smart TVs and gaming consoles. And for its operation BuyDRM, a provider of digital rights management (DRM) and content security services said that today's over-the-top (OTT) users are increasingly moving towards a variety of new consumption platforms which are not based on desktop computing. This means, it says, that fragmentation of the consumer playback experience requires greater flexibility in delivering a studio-approved multi-DRM service.

BuyDRM has made its business offering DRM as-a-service (DaaS), providing DRM technologies through secure APIs. Using a variety of common programming languages, the KeyOS Platform enables major studios, content licensees and OTT operators to deploy studio-approved DRM within their existing content workflows, supporting Microsoft PlayReady, Google Widevine and Apple FairPlay DRM.

"icflix is on the march in the MENA marketplace with the most diverse content offering available," said CEO and founder Carlos Tibi. "The studios we license content from have strict requirements for securing their IP and BuyDRM's KeyOS Platform meets those requirements."
"KeyOS manages content in 141 countries around the world with industry-leading content security," added BuyDRM CEO and Founder, Christopher Levy. "We are truly inspired by the icflix content offering and will provide the highest levels of DRM service to their users throughout their operating regions."
