Following the success of Las Chicas del Cable, Bambú Producciones is to produce a second Spanish original for Netflix.
The docuseries El Crimen de Alcàsser, based on one of the bloodiest crimes in Spain’s recent history, will start shooting this week and will premiere globally in 2019.“Our intention is to create the definitive documentary about a crime that has distressed Spanish society for years,” said Ramón Campos, executive producer, Bambú Producciones. “All the main characters involved in the crime will be in the documentary to finally unveil the secrets behind the incident.”
This is not the first true crime documentary Bambú has produced; last year, it filmed Lo Que la Verdad Esconde: El Caso Asunta for the free-to-air (FTA) network Antena 3.
El Crimen de Alcàsser will be the fifth original production of the subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) leader in Spain, including Elite and the movies 7 Años and Fe de Etarras.
