AMC Networks International has added the French and Italian markets to its Iberian business unit in a bid to increase its presence across Southern Europe.

The newly-created unit for Southern Europe, which is headquartered in Madrid, will manage production, programming, marketing and distribution for SundanceTV France.
It will also explore new business opportunities in the French market and work toward distributing channels and content in Italy.
Manuel Balsera, SVP of AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will lead the areas of affiliates, ad sales, marketing and digital, while Pilar de las Casas will oversee the programming and acquisitions strategy as VP of cinema and documentary channels.
