Now firmly established as a key part of the leading broadcast shows, the 4K 4Charity Fun Run at NAB 2018 is now up and running for business.

4K4CNAB2018 logo 14Feb2018The 4K 4Charity Fun Run Series is a 2.49-mile running and walking event held annually in Las Vegas (NAB Show and AWS re:Invent), Amsterdam (IBC Show) and Portland, Oregon, to raise awareness and financial support for global and local non-profit causes that support increased diversity and inclusion initiatives. Since its founding in 2014, the series has raised more than $630,000.

AWS Elemental has now announced that the next edition in the series will take place on Tuesday 10 April. Funds from the 2018 NAB Show event will be devoted to Girls Who Code, a national non-profit organisation working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does, and FIRST Nevada, a non-profit Las Vegas organisation that sets that inspires young people through mentor-based programmes that build science, engineering and technology skills.

“The 4K 4Charity Fun Run is a beloved NAB Show tradition and a unique opportunity for industry professionals to come together in support of worthy non-profits and enjoy an energising departure from the exhibit floor,” said Chris Brown, executive vice president, conventions and business operations at NAB Show. “We are pleased to support 4K 4Charity and excited to help the media and entertainment industry give back to the important cause of diversity and inclusion.”

In addition to AWS Elemental, sponsors for the 4K 4Charity Fun Run include Aspera, Ooyala, Dolby Laboratories, Irdeto, Brightcove, Planar, ChyronHego Corporation, Sports Video Group, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).
