It may not be Monkey Tennis, or indeed another outing for military game show Skirmish, but in what he would call a bombshell, Alan Partridge has got the recommission from the BBC that he has sought for over a quarter of a century.

Partridge 13Feb2018The BBC has confirmed that filming has begun on the 6x30' series This Time With Alan Partridge, a new TV project seeing Steve Coogan’s most famous character handed a career lifeline, standing in as temporary co-host on This Time, an evening weekday magazine show offering ‘consumer affairs, current affairs, viewer interaction, highbrow interview and lightweight froth’.

Joining Coogan will be Susannah Fielding as his female co-presenter Jennie Gresham, and Tim Key as Simon ‘formerly Sidekick Simon’ Denton. A Baby Cow Baby Cow production production for BBC, This Time With Alan Partridge was written by Neil Gibbons, Rob Gibbons and Steve Coogan and directed by Neil Gibbons and Rob Gibbons. The producer is Ted Dowd and the executive producers are Christine Langan and Steve Coogan.

The series was ordered for BBC One by Shane Allen, controller of comedy commissioning. The commissioner for the BBC is Kate Daughton.
