Indian telco Bharti Airtel has forged a deal to bring Hotstar's extensive digital content catalogue to its mobile customers through the Airtel TV app.

Hotstar logo 6 Sept 2017The deal with the Star India-owned digital video platform will include shows from 22 channels and over 3,000 movies.

It also brings the telco's customers access to over 350 live TV channels and 10,000 films and programmes through the mobile video app. All content is free for both Airtel prepaid and postpaid customers on a promotional basis until June 2018.

In total over 100,000 hours of content in nine languages comprising live sports and premium Indian cinema and TV shows from Star TV channels will be immediately available to all Airtel customers without charge.
