Spain media group Atresmedia is aiming to strengthen in-house series production through the themed channel Atreseries, and its American version.

cuerpo elite 09 february 2018After two years on air, Spain’s series-focused free-to-air (FTA) channel will increase the distribution of Atresmedia-produced fictional content, with some of the original formats gaining international distribution across the Spanish-speaking Americas on Atreseries Internacional.

The new productions added to the network’s in-house line-up include Los Remakers, a show that remakes popular series with amateur actors; the interview formats La chica de las Series and Fotokiller; and Infiltrados en Cuerpo de Élite, a behind-the-scenes show focused on the Atresmedia comedy Cuerpo de Élite.

Popular, non-original shows will continue airing on the channel, including Einstein, Rookie Blue, Person of Interest, Sea Patrol and Jag.

“Since the beginning, Atreseries has been the leader of the newest group of channels in Spain. The network delivered its best figures in July and August 2017, with an average share of 1.4%. Ley y Orden: UVE was the most watched show ever for the channel, with 412,000 viewers,” claims the media company.
