The IPL 2018 auctions have attracted five times the number of viewers on Hotstar compared with last year's figures, according to Star India's digital streaming platform.
"With the fastest load time compared to any other cricket score feed, the feature is designed to minimise friction for the user, completely eliminating the need to search for the score anywhere else," said Hotstar in a statement.
The feature will go live on the over-the-top (OTT) video platform ready for the IPL 2018's opening match on 6 April 2018.
Hotstar recently announced it would also offer digital viewers virtual reality (VR) coverage this season, which runs until 31 May.
Star India is covering the high octane tournament live in six languages on ten TV channels, as well as on Hotstar, after it snapped up the broadcasting as well as streaming rights from the BCCI in a US$2.55 billion five-season deal last September.
The 21st Century Fox-owned broadcaster has also successfully brought about a change in timings for this season's games, which will now begin at 5.30pm (instead of 4pm) and 7pm (instead of 8pm). The match overlap will be accommodated by broadcasting both simultaneously, on different channels.
