Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has revealed the details of a distribution agreement reached with an over-the-top (OTT) platform in Latin America.

movistar play peru 01 february 2018During the last meeting of RTVE’s board, it was announced that Movistar Play will add three international networks – TVE Internacional, Star HD and Clan – to its portfolio. The deal was anticipated last week, but the details remained undisclosed as it was still to be finalised.

The agreement with Telefónica’s Movistar Play, which is available in Ecuador, Uruguay, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua, Argentina, Chile and Brazil, means a distribution boost for Clan, RTVE’s newest international network.

RTVE has also announced that TVE Internacional will be added to Claro and Movistar in Argentina, even though Telefónica has not yet launched a pay-TV operation in the country. The news network Canal 24 Horas will gain distribution in Mexico through Dish.

All the partnerships follow the negotiations initiated during NATPE 2018, held in Miami two weeks ago.
