Claro Sports and MARCA Claro will broadcast the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics across 17 Latin American countries and several platforms.
Building on their multimedia project launched last year, Claro and MARCA will deliver over 600 hours of live content through two pay-TV channels, the MARCA Claro mobile app and website, and the over-the-top (OTT) service Claro video.
Between 9 and 25 February, Claro Sports will enable two pay-TV channels, one for regular programming with football, basketball and MMA, as well as special events from South Korea, and another one with 24/7 programming focused on the Winter Olympics.
Through the MARCA Claro digital properties, six live signals will be delivered, aiming to cover all the competitions. Both the website and the mobile app will also stream reports, interviews and analysis pieces.
“We are happy to kick off a new Olympics coverage, specially regarding the technology innovations that will enable the audience to be in control of the competitions while sharing their emotions and experiences,” pointed out Arturo Elías Ayub, director of strategic alliances and content, América Móvil.
During the Rio 2016 Olympics, Claro alone reached 55 million mobile viewers across Latin America through its free-content app.
