Kuala Lumpur-based SportsFix is set to roll out its over-the-top (OTT) live sports content in Indonesia and Thailand after securing US$1 million from international investment group Mayfair 101.

The deal closes the OTT platform’s initial round of funding to help with its expansion across the ASEAN and its plans to produce original content from the region. Mayfair 101 said it found SportsFix’s business model for strategic expansion impressive, and the platform had a “significant opportunity” to capture market share in the Asia Pacific.
“We are delighted to partner with SportsFix as it focuses on establishing original content and launching its suite of native mobile apps this year. The platform was a natural choice for us given the ASEAN region has one of the highest uptake rates of mobile data consumption and a rising interest in local and international sports,” said James Mawhinny, managing director, Mayfair 101.
SportsFix executive chairman Marcus Luer added: “We are always looking for like-minded investors who share our passion and vision and we found exactly this with Mayfair 101. Their team not only bring additional funding to SportsFix but considerable expertise and relationships that we are already starting to leverage with SportsFix’s growth plans”.
