Asian mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion the One Championship has sealed a video streaming deal with social media giant Twitter.

One Championship logoAs a result of the partnership, Twitter live streamed the majority of the main card and the entire preliminary card of the One Championship’s first bout of 2018 – Kings of Courage featuring Tiffany Teo and Xiong Jing Nan.

Portions of the One Championship’s future fight cards will also be aired through the social media service, although full details are yet to be confirmed.

“This partnership signifies the two companies’ commitment to developing martial arts in Asia and extend the reach of our exciting live and digital content,” said Chatri Sityodtong, chairman and CEO, One Championship.

Twitter’s head of sports partnerships for Southeast Asia Maurizio Barbieri added: “One Championship is a true sports media powerhouse. We are excited to team up with them to increase their reach to millions of fans around Asia and the rest of the world”.

One Championship has also agreed a broadcast partnership with Indonesian television network, Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV). One events will be carried free-to-air on SCTV networks, which include digital platform KMK Online, Bola.com, Liputan6.com, Bintang.com, Vidio.com and BBM – in addition to the digital network of parent company Emtek.
