Content security and conditional access firm Verimatrix has integrated an API between its MultiRights OTT DRM security solution and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Media Services.

By using MultiRights OTT, Verimatrix says that operators can deploy premium multinetwork services with the knowledge that they have a platform that will accommodate evolving security regimes and business models while ensuring differentiated multiscreen video services across all device categories. It also brings set-top boxes, consumer devices and HTML5 browsers under a unified rights management security umbrella to enable secure premium content playback.
The AWS Elemental MediaConvert file-to-file video transcoding service works directly with MultiRights OTT, creating on-demand assets for both broadcast and multiscreen delivery. Video providers also have the option to deploy MultiRights OTT on-premises, as a virtualised instance hosted in-house by the provider, or via a cloud hosting and management service with 24/7/365 support. The multi-DRM solution also accommodates optional video watermarking and real-time, cloud-based analytics for premium video services.
"This advancement of cloud-based workflows is a significant milestone in the industry's transition to the virtualisation of video infrastructure," said Verimatrix CTO Petr Peterka (pictued). "MultiRights OTT is designed to provide a frictionless viewing experience through an advanced multi-DRM platform for premium services. Our API integration with AWS Media Services addresses the diverse constellation of video providers moving at different rates towards the goal of complete cloud-based and virtualised operations."
