Two Brothers Pictures’ critically-acclaimed thriller Liar has talked its way into Latin America through two deals struck by all3media.
The distributor has sold the six-part series to OnDIRECTV for broadcasting in over 10 territories, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. The drama will be aired by Brazil’s GNT, a pay-TV network owned by Globosat.
The agreements include also the upcoming second season of Liar, which was recently announced by ITV and Sundance AMC.
Through this deal, the series reaches Latin America ahead of NATPE Miami and following its ratings-winning UK debut during autumn 2017. Liar has also been acquired in France, Spain, the Nordics, Benelux, Australia and the Middle East, among other territories.
“With these new sales in LATAM, Two Brothers’ Liar is really smashing home its multi-market appeal,” said Janel Downing, VP sales, Latin America, at all3media international. “I’m also delighted to see another of our premium titles arrive on DIRECTV, following their previous acquisitions of titles such as National Treasure, Innocent and The Missing.”
Created for ITV (UK) and SundanceTV (US) by the writers of The Missing, Liar tells the story of a night that changes the lives of Laura Nielson (Joanne Froggatt) and Andrew Earlham (Ioan Gruffudd) forever, exploring the cost of deceit on both the couple and their friends and family.
