Dubai-based Al Aan TV has started to broadcast its free-to-air (FTA) high definition (HD) channel on the Arabsat Badr-4 satellite.

Al Aan TV Logo 12 Jan 2018The pan-Arab HD channel joins Al Aan’s standard definition channel on Arabsat, offering 24-hour news coverage in Arabic as well as entertainment aimed at Arab families and women.

“Al Aan TV is one of the distinguished channels which was able to establish itself as a multimedia brand in MENA by broadcasting its original, interactive and responsible content with crystal clear picture quality and sound since its foundation in 2006,” said Wael Al Buti, CCO, Arabsat.

Maysa Mourad, director of content and marketing, Al Aan TV, added: “It is critical how the HD channel is in keeping ... with the advancements of Al Aan TV ... it will present our hard work better, enhance viewer’s experience, and pursue the viewer’s aspirations.”

Located in orbit at 26 degrees East, Arabsat’s Badr-4 satellite will provides coverage for Al Aan HD of more than 100 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Central Asia.

Arabsat plans to launch two sixth-generation satellites later this year.
