Building on its operations in Chile, Colombia and Peru, Spain’s Grupo Secuoya has now created a Latin American unit based in Bogota.

samanes latam 11 january 2018Alejandro Samanes has been appointed CEO of the LATAM division to oversee various projects and expand Secuoya’s operation throughout Spanish-speaking markets, focusing specifically on Mexico and the US Hispanics.

Samanes joined Secuoya in 2015 as general manager of Murcia’s public TV, before being named corporate director for the TV business. Now, he will head the group’s main international operation, aiming to strengthen Secuoya’s presence in Chile, Colombia and Peru, and increase the company’s footprint as a services and content provider in the region.

The Spanish broadcaster and producer is continuing its ongoing partnership with Chile’s Grupo Fabula by launching Fabula TV, a production unit which carries out a number projects in South America.

In Peru, where it acquired the company Imizu back in 2014, Secuoya produces Mujeres sin Filtro for leading free-to-air (FTA) network América TV, while in Colombia it produces video-on-demand (VOD) content through a joint venture with news bureau Agencia EFE.
