Nigerian pay-TV platform StarTimes has added five new channels, including Fox and Star Plus, at no extra costs for subscribers to its classic package.

“Our subscribers can consider this a new year gift from StarTimes,” Qasim Elegbede, brand and marketing director, StarTimes Nigeria, is quoted as saying by news agency Vanguard.
The channels were previously available exclusively to Unique bouquet subscribers, costing about N3,800 a month, but are now also offered as part of StarTimes cheaper classic pack for N2,600 a month.
“StarTimes has recently engaged in an aggressive upgrade of its channel list on the digital terrestrial platform, allowing customers who use the antenna to watch as much as 80 exciting channels cutting across movies, news, sports, series, kiddies, animal documentary, religious channels, and more,” he told Vanguard.
The pay-TV operator has recently begun broadcasting in Maiduguri, Borno State in south East Nigeria.
