Netflix’s growing raft of original Japanese anime content follows the commissioning last year of Devilman Crybaby, a series about a boy who is turned into a demon-human hybrid and attempts to save the world from evil spirits; Saint Seiya - a revival 80s show about a team of heroes; and manga series Baki about a mixed-martial arts fighter. Modern day fantasy Sword Gai, about a boy who fuses with a demonic sword to battle monsters, is also expected to debut in 2018, along with science fiction anime A.I.C.O. Incarnation.
