Israeli producer and distributor Gil Formats has signed a deal for a second season of Life on Duty in Spain, and secured the format’s arrival in France and Canada.

heroes cuatro 08 january 2018The factual entertainment show will have a second season on Mediaset’s Cuatro, following its successful launch on the free-to-air (FTA) channel in September 2017 under the local title Héroes, más allá del deber.

New deals have also been inked with KM Production, a Banijay Group company, in France, and Bristow Global Media in Canada.

Presented at MIPCOM 2015, Life on Duty follows characters from several emergency services and contrasts the brutal and at times heroic hours spent on the job with their private lives.

“Life on Duty is certainly not the typical 911 format, focusing on individual life savers from several emergency services and telling their personal tales alongside their professional dramatic duty,” said Assaf Gil, CEO Gil Formats. “We are lucky to have great partners around the world that share our enthusiasm and belief in this format that had already proven success in both Spain and Israel.”
