The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) has sealed a content deal with Sportsfix, the Malaysia-based over-the-top (OTT) video platform has announced.

Chinese Basketball Association logo 29 Dec 2017Live and recorded CBA matches will be available to Sportsfix subscribers across the ASEAN, along with existing sports content from the Philippine Basketball League, K League Classic, Chinese Super League (CSL), Toyota Thai Premier League, LIGA 1 Indonesia and the Italian Serie A football league.

The first-tier professional men’s basketball league in China, has attracted well known NBA players and European stars, including current president of the CBA Yao Ming and Zhou Qi, who joined the Houston Rockets.

“Basketball is a sport that is widely played among the youths in ASEAN and what better way to further grow one of the most popular leagues in the region by including the CBA as part of SportsFix offering,” said Carl Kirchhoff, CEO of SportsFix.

“We are proud to have the CBA as part of our SportsFix content as it is the perfect fit to our growing offer catering for the region. The increased fan base and following will also help grow the sport even further,” he added.

SportsFix streams live, full-recorded games as well as highlights and short clips for RM5 per week and RM10 per month. Currently available via mobile web, the OTT service plans to launch native mobile apps early 2018.
