RTVE is to produce its own eSports content with the launch of a Clash Royale Championship in 2018.

rtve clash royale 29 december 2017Starting on 24 January, the league will be broadcast through the Spanish public broadcaster’s recently launched transmedia platform Playz.

RTVE will offer the championship’s highlights, best games, interviews and analysis on Playz through a live weekly show and video-on-demand (VOD) content. It will also produce short videos with tricks and eSports techniques with gamer and YouTuber Aryx.

The eSports championship will have three phases, kicking off with a qualification league and ending with a final round with the best eight players to be held in Madrid on 14-15 April.

RTVE launched Playz in September 2017 and has been gradually increasing its line-up with interactive and digital formats. The platform is available online and through RTVE’s mobile and red button apps (HbbTV).
