DirecTV has revealed the most watched content of 2017 across its Latin American networks, with series and sports coming top.

fargo 28 december 2017LaLiga’s El Clasico and Spain’s Supercup, as well as the International Champions Cup, were the most followed sports events on DirecTV Sports.

Drawn by Messi and FC Barcelona, Latin Americans also watched in droves Spain’s Copa del Rey semi-final and final against Atlético de Madrid and Alavés, respectively.

“The English Premier League was also among the leading content of 2017, with Manchester City and Manchester United matches being highly watched,” said DirecTV.

As for the company’s non-sports pay-TV network, OnDirecTV, the most viewed title of 2017 was the British series Victoria, followed by Fargo.

The documentaries Becoming the Beatles and I am JFK Jr, as well as the concerts Eric Clapton, Slow-Hand at 70, Live at the Royal Albert Hall and Il Volo with Plácido Domingo were also favourites with Latin American viewers during the year.
