Argentina’s Cablevisión and BBC Worldwide have reached a multi-content agreement for the former's video-on-demand (VOD) service Flow.
The deal will see over 50 titles produced by the British broadcaster landing on the Argentinian VOD platform, including two exclusive series included in no other line-up in the country: Rillington Place and The Last Post.
Other BBC series and formats added by Cablevisión Flow include Doctor Who (seasons 1-9), Luther (the first four seasons), The Collection, The Honourable Woman and Ripper Street. The VOD service will also add some of the company’s well-known documentaries, such as Wild Patagonia, Animal Super Senses and Natural Born Hustlers.
All the titles will be available through the Flow app for smart TVs, smartphones, tablets and computers.
“The agreement highlights our commitment to the Latin American market,” said Anna Gordon, EVP and general manager, BBC Worldwide Latin America/US Hispanic. “We believe this partnership will enable us to expand our footprint across the pay-TV, free-to-air (FTA) and digital markets throughout the region.”
Added Antonio Álvarez, manager of programming, Cablevisión: “Through this deal with BBC Worldwide we continue betting on high-quality content that also fits the new consumption habits, such as binge-watching.”
