Looking to establish its future production infrastructure, Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE has acquired HD equipment from Sony which can be updated in the near future for Ultra HD production.
Sony and RTVE have been partners for nearly 30 years, since the public broadcaster acquired Sony’s Betacam SP equipment in 1990.

Following the agreement signed with Sony in 2016, RTVE has now received 14 HD cameras FUJINON, two mixers, five OLED screens BVM-F170A and 47 screens LCD from the LMD series. Before the year ends, Sony will carry a second phase of the project with 14 cameras, one mixer and 32 LMD screens.

“The acquired equipment represents the most-advanced technology for HD production. Both the cameras and the mixers are ready to be updated to produce 4K content, which makes it easier for RTVE to carry all the current and future productions,” said José Antonio Bolos, key account manager, Sony Professional Solutions Europe.
