Users of leading sports-first live streaming TV service fuboTV on the Roku online video platform will now see a new design offering an enhanced entertainment section with on-demand functionality, upgraded video control and cloud DVR.

fubotv 5 dec 2017With the upgrade, fuboTV is now officially out of beta and available on Roku, Apple TV (tvOS), Chromecast, iOS and Android devices, desktop and mobile web. In the US, fuboTV’s Roku app is currently ranked eighth in the sports category, and is the only sports app not owned by a network or league included in the top ten. It is among the top ten sports apps downloaded for Apple TV and the top five top-grossing sports apps for iPhone and iPad.

Usability and aesthetic improvements with the new enhancement include the promotion of featured events and live games, and the creation of a designated home for films and series, giving viewers the ability to more quickly access the content they desire. The fuboTV user experience has been enriched by new features and metadata, embedded smoothly in overlays and designated landing pages to reduce the cognitive load. In addition to that, animations and improved event images have been added to give the app a more modern feel.

Roku users can now stream more than 10,000 hours of fuboTV content including sports talk, series and blockbuster films. This includes top shows from CBS, FOX, NBC and others. Additionally, with fuboTV's lookback feature, viewers can replay shows that aired in the last 72 hours.

Yet of all the new features, the leading enhancement is arguably cloud DVR whereby Roku subscribers can now record live games, films and shows, access personal recordings made on other devices and watch recordings set on Roku on other devices. The recently upgraded fuboTV DVR provides up to 30 hours of personal storage with no expiration, as well as the ability to purchase an add-on option that includes up to 500 hours.
