Celebrating the legendary entertainment icon, and officially launching the Paramount Network (formerly Spike TV), Lip Sync Battle is planning a live event for 18 January: A Michael Jackson Celebration.

lip sync 18 december 2017The one-hour special, produced by Casey Patterson Entertainment and Matador Content, in consultation with the estate of Michael Jackson, will feature larger-than-life performances from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, including a special performance by Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil.

“The King of Pop is the most ground-breaking, theatrical superstar of all time and we are thrilled to be performing and celebrating the electrifying music of Michael Jackson on our big night,” said Casey Patterson, executive producer. “We are taking Lip Sync Battle to new heights, live at the Dolby Theater for the launch of the Paramount Network.”

The two-time Emmy-nominated show, which features celebrities going head to head lip-syncing the song of their choice, has had one billion cross-platform views since launch, and has over two million Facebook followers and over two million YouTube subscribers. A partnership with Carnival Cruise Lines features an on-board experiential experience, and the franchise airs in 120 territories spread out over six continents, and has original format versions in in 18 countries.

Paramount Network’s sister network Nickelodeon also will launch Lip Sync Battle Shorties, featuring real-life kids lip-syncing pop songs in celebration of their favourite artists.
