MacLaren’s appearance has been organised by Middle East pay-TV operator OSN, which has a distribution partnership with HBO across the Arab world.
The pay-TV operator is also bringing to DIFF the Lebanese-Tunisian actress Nadine Nassib Njeim, best known for her roles in Arabic series Nos Youm, Samra, What If: Aka Laow and Al Hayba. Njeim will host an In Conversation session, discussing her career and the development of Arabic film and TV.
The cast of SNL Bil Arabi, including comedy duo Khalid Mansoor and Shadi Alfons, will host also an interactive masterclass at the festival, sharing the art of comedy script and sketch writing.
SNL Bil Arabi, which has just completed its fourth successful season, is broadcast on OSN’s Arabic entertainment channel, OSN Yahala Al Oula HD.
OSN’s weekly Arabic-language magazine show Spotlight will provide daily reports from DIFF and interviews from the red carpet, with presenter Habiba Basiony. It will be aired on OSN Yahala Al Oula HD, and available on digital platforms WAVO and OSN Play.
The Dubai International Film Festival 2017 runs until 13 December.
