Video-on-demand (VOD) delivery expert Ostmodern has had its Skylark platform chosen to improve the user experience, facilitate international growth and streamline future flexibility and scalability of children’s content delivery service Azoomee.

Said to be the biggest children’s entertainment over-the-top (OTT) service in the UK, Azoomee boasts a library of educational videos, games, audiobooks, music and games for children, with new content added each week. The deployment was driven by Azoomee’s need for a new back-end system that would facilitate international growth in the near future.

Skylark is Ostmodern’s end-to-end video delivery and content management system and was deployed to overhaul Azoomee’s back-end. It now makes it possible for Azoomee’s team to stitch together and rationalise different types of content to offer more tailored recommendations and introduce a simple way for the editorial team to localise content for the first time. This was important for the brand as its service encompasses video, games, audiobooks and a variety of educational material. Skylark has also helped Azoomee target different types of content to specific devices. Games that are more suited to an iOS device can now be pushed to only those users, serving to further personalise and increase the quality of the end user content experience.

“We’re delighted to be using Skylark as Azoomee's content management system,” commented Azoomee founder Douglas Lloyd. “Skylark brings a number of exciting new capabilities to our service as we continue our mission to keep children safe and entertained online. Azoomee has a library of 1000s of videos, games and audiobooks and, because we add new content every week, using the right CMS is absolutely critical to us. With Skylark, we are also well prepared to expand internationally in the near future.”
