Hotstar, the first Indian app to cross 100 million downloads on the Google Play Store, was previously awarded Apple TV’s App of the Year for India in 2016.
The premium digital video platform from Star India, which launched in 2015, offers more than 100,000 hours of drama and movies in nine languages, as well as coverage of major global and Indian sporting events. It carries Emmy award-winning shows such as Game of Thrones, Veep and Silicon Valley, as well as live Premier League football, IPL cricket and Formula One motor racing. Most recently, it added content from National Geographic to its offer.
Hotstar, which has a monthly subscription fee of INR199, now has more than 300 million followers across devices and platforms.
