dailymotion 5Dec2017As a result of a global re-launch prioritising discovery and personalisation as core to the user experience, online video discovery and exploration destination Dailymotion, has expanded its distribution to Google’s smart TV platform, Android TV.

Dailymotion says that going to Android TV allows users to discover the web’s best video content based on their expressed interests and curated feed of trending topics and channels. As part of the relaunch, Dailymotion has partnered with established publishers and media platforms to bring a range of content together in a single destination.

Key features of Dailymotion on Android TV include a focus on video content across four main verticals: news, sports, music, and entertainment. It also boasts a revamped user interface that is said to prioritise content discovery and personalised recommendations. Using the latest features of Android Oreo, recommendations are accessible as soon as viewers start their TV.

Dailymotion claims that viewers can now enjoy premium content from the world’s top storytellers and publishers, including live events such as concerts, sports competitions, breaking news and more. Global launch partners include Universal Music Group, Condé Nast Entertainment, Hearst Magazines Digital Media, Bloomberg Media, Group Nine Media, BBC News, VICE, Red Bull, Refinery29, Mic, Billboard/The Hollywood Reporter, Cheddar, Fuse Media, Genius and FOX Deportes.

Dailymotion’s mission is to bring people closer to the storytellers and publishers they love, empowering them to discover the web’s best video content within a single destination,” commented Guillaume Clément, Dailymotion chief product and technology officer. “Our Android TV experience is yet another means for our community to discover fresh, new content every day, anyway they choose.”

The Dailymotion Android TV app is now available in the Google Play store. Dailymotion is also available on the web at dailymotion.com, iOS, Apple TV (Apple Store) and Xbox One.
