HBO has reached an agreement with Lowi, Vodafone’s low-cost brand in Spain, in a bid to boost its subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform over Christmas.

hbo lowi 05 december 2017Until 31 January 2018, Lowi’s existing and new subscribers to its mobile, fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and convergent packages can request a free six-month subscription to HBO España.

“Game of Thrones, Westworld and The Sopranos are among the series Lowi’s clients will get access to. Users will be able to watch HBO España’s series and movies across any device, through the service’s apps or website,” said the Lowi.

The agreement comes as the HBO SVOD service celebrates a year of operating in Spain.

Even though the company has not released any figure for the period, Spain’s Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) recently said that the platform has rapidly neared the half million subscriber mark.
