With the All Access streaming service launched and off to a good start, US broadcaster CBS is planning a second digital gambit: entertainment news via its long-running Entertainment Tonight.

ET 1 dec 2018CEO Les Moonves told Variety at its Innovate Summit that the offering would be a 24-hour prospect.

The Entertainment Tonight-branded service would join other streaming services in the company’s portfolio, which includes the Showtime direct-to-consumer service and the free ad-supported digital news product CBSN.

CBS, which shares NFL carriage rights, is also planning a sports information streaming service next year.

Moonves said at the event that the numbers on All Access have now exceeded over two million subs, noting the uptake has exceeded expectations. He also said that there were over two million subs on Showtime OTT.
