Grupo Televisa has temporarily appointed Salvi Folch as corporate vice president and general manager for its cable business Izzi.
Folch, who joined the Mexican company in 2000, will replace Adolfo Lagos, who was murdered on 19 November while biking near Teotihuacán. Though robbery was initially thought to be the motive for the shooting, the police are still investigating.
Folch is currently VP of strategy for Televisa and previously looked after the company’s finances
“We are lucky to have somebody with the operational and financial experience of Salvi to quickly take the role lead the cable business after the tragic loss of our colleague Adolfo,” said Alfonso de Aigoitia, who will replace Emilio Azcárraga Jean as Televisa CEO from January 2018.
