Subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) leader Netflix is to add the series Merlí across all its Spanish-speaking markets, except for Spain.

The series, produced by Boomerang’s Veranda TV for the Catalan broadcaster TV3, continues to gain huge success and has aroused great interest on the international market, where it is distributed by Lagardère Studios Distribution.

Through the agreement with Netflix, the two first seasons of Merlí will be available on the platform in Latin America and the US, targeting the Hispanic market.

TV3 is currently airing the final episodes of the third season, which continues to garner strong ratings in Catalonia. The latest episode to be broadcast averaged 468,000 viewers and a 15.8% share, leading free-to-air (FTA) viewership in the Catalan region.
