Powered by CSG International’s Ascendo digital platform the improvements to the TV service include a unified experience across devices whereby viewers can pause and resume anywhere, customers can download and watch a film on their mobile and start where they left off on their TV. The single app allows users to watch live and on demand TV across both free-to-air and subscription channels and the same range of boxsets and films will be available to rent and buy on the app and on the set top box.
TalkTalk TV also announced plans to launch multi-room for its fibre broadband customers in 2018. The new improvements to the TV service follow a number of developments it has implemented to boost its TV offering. Commenting on the announcements, Will Ennett, acting managing director at TalkTalk TV, said: “We’re focussed on offering a truly premium TV service at an unbeatable price. With the internet and mobile changing the way our customers watch TV, we’ve tailored our service to suit their evolving needs. We’ve streamlined TalkTalk TV to create a more integrated and seamless experience across devices, making it even easier for customers to watch the entertainment they love whether at home or on the go.”
Added Kent Steffen, president of global OTT business at CSG International, said: “Together, TalkTalk and CSG have created a differentiated digital TV experience, aligned with consumer demand for access to video content anytime, anywhere, across devices.
