The MTV EMAs, held in London last weekend, have made their presence felt across social media.

The music awards raked in 3,384,506 likes, comments, tweets and retweets across Twitter and Facebook (2,655,801 and 728,705 respectively), according to 4C Insights.

Meanwhile, the sentiment for the awards sits at 96% positive. Of all the nominees, U2 topped out on social media following their win of the Global Icon Award (2,679,703 engagements, 95% sentiment). Taylor Swift came a close second, enjoying 92% positive engagement, despite having an unsuccessful night at the awards ceremony.

Rita Ora also got her fair share of limelight and praise on social for hosting the awards ceremony, although she was not the most talked about individual at the awards (2,519,447 engagements; 95% sentiment). Liam Payne took pole position for the artist most associated with the MTV EMAs. The former One Direction singer left fans in hysterics on Sunday, after he was videoed falling over during an attempt to impress Stormzy at the MTV EMAs.
