ManCity 10Nov2017Following in the footsteps of their much more illustrious neighbours 35 miles away who broke ground in 2014 with the infamous Being: Liverpool, Premier League football team Manchester City are to be the focus of their own behind-the-scenes series with Amazon.

The programme will launch exclusively on Prime Video in 2018 and will be available in over 200 countries and territories. It will follow the current English Premier League leaders through the whole of the entire 2017/2018 season, offering fans a glimpse into the vastly funded coach led by legendary former FC Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola, also one of the best players and coaches of his generation having won three Champions League titles during his time at Camp Nou.

Guardiola, the nemesis of arch rival Manchester United’s coach Jose Mourinho, arrived at City in 2016 to manage an extravagantly expensively assembled squad of stars such as Sergio Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling who enjoyed an unintentionally hilarious cameo on Being: Liverpool before his £50 transfer to the Etihad Stadium. After a conspicuously trophy-free 2010/2017, all eyes are now on Guardiola to deliver silverware, especially the Champion’s League.

“This new Amazon Prime Original series will give Prime members extraordinary insight into Manchester City, the top English Premier League Football team [sic] and one of the most exciting and respected teams globally,” said Heather Schuster, head of unscripted, Amazon Originals. “The story behind the coach and players is fascinating and we are very excited to work with the Manchester City team to deliver an exclusive all access experience to our Prime members.”

Added Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano, whose long term project for the club was based on Guardiola’s arrival: “We are delighted to begin this strategic relationship with Amazon, one of the world's leading companies. Amazon Prime Video is the perfect home for a ground-breaking project that will offer a unique and authentic inside view into Manchester City's season like never before. This is an extremely exciting time for Manchester City and through Amazon's world-class service, we will be able to share it with football fans all over the world."

Prime members will be able to stream the series via the Amazon Prime Video app for TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices and online at Members can also download the series to mobile devices for offline viewing at no additional cost to their membership.
