Peru’s public broadcaster TV Peru is getting ready to launch its international feed in selected US markets, while it continues contemplating a release date for Europe.

tv peru 10 november 2017The Instituto Nacional de Radio and Televisión del Perú (IRTP) has announced that TV Peru’s international signal will launch in Los Angeles, Miami and New Jersey, targeting local Peruvian communities abroad. The broadcaster has not yet unveiled what pay-TV operators will deliver the network.

According to IRTP’s president, Hugo Coya, the network will soon arrive in Europe, following a distribution agreement signed with France’s Mobibase in July.

“The international feed will be a mix of programming from TV Peru’s four national signals,” said Coya. “Our goal is to be available not only to Peruvian homes abroad, but to anyone interested in Peru’s culture, food and tradition.”

The network is going through a last phase of technical tests before it launches in the US. The IRTP estimates 3.5 million people as the potential audience of Peruvians living abroad.
