As its worldwide business expands significantly, AMC Networks International (AMCNI) has appointed Alina Florea and Sam Rowden to the newly created roles of director of acquisitions and content partnerships and director of programming, CBS channels.

AMCniAlinaFlorea 9Nov2017Both Florea and Rowden will be based in London, reporting to Kevin Dickie, AMC Networks International SVP, channels group, UK, MEA and Poland.

Boasting over 20 years of experience in worldwide content acquisition and channel management, Florea (pictured) will in her new and expanded role oversee content acquisitions across AMCNI UK’s portfolio of ten brands, and also manage studio relations and content partnerships, including the CBS UK and EMEA joint ventures co-owned by AMCNI UK and CBS Studios International.

Rowden, who was most recently director of programming, CBS Reality and New Media, will now have full responsibility for the programming strategy for the whole CBS channel portfolio across the UK and EMEA consisting of CBS Action, CBS Drama, CBS Reality, Horror Channel and CBS Europa. CBS Reality has become the biggest factual entertainment channel in the UK amongst adult women, and a top ten most watched non-PSB channel amongst all adults.

“Alina is an accomplished acquisitions strategist while Sam has been the driving force behind the growth of CBS Reality and has been leading the way with original productions,” said Dickie, commenting on the appointments. “Both of them have been key contributors to the continued growth of AMCNI UK and their judgement and insight will continue to be invaluable to the business.”
