Global media company Viasat World has closed a deal with independent TV, film and digital production and distribution company all3media international to acquire over 50 hours of content for its brand new flagship content brand, Epic Drama.

theViallge 8Nov2017The deal secures more than 50 hours of acclaimed content for Viasat World’s new channel and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) propositions. Drama fans will have access to a collection of acclaimed and compelling series across a variety of genres, including crime and mystery, classic literary, politics and power, historical, war, action adventure, real history and fantasy. This includes hit BBC series The Miniaturist and The Village.

The new channel and SVOD propositions, which launch on 14 December in Viasat World’s key markets and territories internationally, will now play host to some of the hottest programming properties from all3media which will be fuelling the content pipeline for Epic Drama. There are some exceptions to exclusivity: the deal does not include the rights to The Miniaturist in Poland.

Viasat World says that its first scripted content deal affirms its commitment to working side by side with the very best content distribution partners, and builds on the long-standing relationship between the two companies on the factual programming side, particularly in the non-scripted history genre.
