The India Today Group has launched seven mobile TV channels covering a range of entertainment, sports and news genres in response to the changing pattern of content consumption.

Veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai will feature on News Tak, which will also carry hourly headlines.

Kalli Purie, recently appointed as India Today’s group editorial director for broadcast and new media, told that the move was possible given the increase in internet bandwidth now available in India, and reduction in data costs since Reliance Jio entered the market.

As mobile has limitations, the India Today videos can be watched with or without audio, she added.

In addition to the website, the channels are available on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
