Israeli telco Partner says 30,000 households have now signed up to receive its IPTV service, with 20,000 users up and running in the three months since it launched.
The IPTV service service provides a 4K converter and delivers 40 channels, including Israel’s five sports channels: 5Gold, 5Live, 5Plus, 5Sport and 5Sport HD. It also delivers video-on-demand (VOD) at catch-up TV, on up to five screens for a single subscription.
“Partner TV provides a perfect response to the traditional viewing habits and the new viewing habits. By combining rich and varied content, innovative interface and an attractive price, we provide the most advanced and cost-effective television experience in Israel,” said Isaac Benbenisti (pictured), CEO, Partner.
Partner TV costs NIS69 per month, which currently includes a free six-month subscription to Netflix. After six months, access to Netflix content will cost NIS30 or more a month, depending on the package.
The IPTV platform is competing for subscribers against pay-TV market leaders Yes and HOT as well as rival telco Cellcom TV, which launched its OTT service in December 2014.
The remaining 10,000 homes have Partner TV installations scheduled, the company said.
