Twitter and Brazil’ basketball league, LNB, are partnering to broadcast the competition live on the social network.

Under the terms of the agreement, 16 games (one per week) will air on Twitter, targeting a global audience. The first match to be broadcast on Twitter will be Sesi Franca Franca vs. Paulistano/Corpore on 10 November.

“We’re going to deliver the opportunity to watch the games live while joining the conversation through a single screen, Twitter,” said Pitter Rodríguez, director for sports partnerships, Twitter Latin America. “This partnership brings highly in-demand content to the platform and opens a new scenario for advertisers.”

The games will be broadcast through the league’s Twitter profile, @NBB, and will be available for computers, mobile devices, Apple TV and Microsoft Xbox One.

“Five years ago, we started streaming the games and the audience engagement was impressive. For us, it’s thrilling to have joined Twitter in an unprecedented partnership in Brazil,” added Joao Fernando Rossia, president, Liga Nacional de Basquete.

Twitter’s deal in Brazil follows other live broadcast experiences carried out in LATAM this year, including Mexico’s Master Chef final and the play-off series of Argentina’s basketball league.
